VITMEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination) is conducted by the VIT University. VITMEE is a university level entrance exam to get admission in the two years of M.Tech programme in various streams offered by VIT campuses. VITMEE 2020 Eligibility

Nationality 

The applicant for admission should be a resident Indian National and should have graduated from Institutions located in India. Foreign and NRI/ PIO applications are to be made separately. Please visit the International Relations tab on the VIT website.

Eligibility

  • Candidates should have graduated with a full-time degree from any recognized University/Institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% or Ist class for MCA and M.Tech. degree programmes.

 

  • Consistent Record in X and XII Std is required.

 

  • Candidates appearing for their final degree exam/ final semester exam in the current year are also eligible to apply.

 

  • Candidates should have completed their final Semester/year exams before the selection interview at VIT.

 

  • The candidates should produce a statement of final year marks and Provisional degree certificate before 15th August 2020(tentatively), failing which admission will be cancelled with the forfeit of an admission fee.

 

Placement Requirements: Industries offering Placement at VIT have stipulated a minimum of 60% Marks for candidates in their undergraduate programmes and in class X and XII. Maximum of 2 years of the academic gap is permitted.

Online Slot Booking

VITMEE 2020 slot booking is a process that all applicants will have to register to book their exam slots and generate their admission card.  It is to be noted that the slot booking of VITMEE 2020 is done on a first come first serve basis.

 

Procedure of VITMEE 2020 Slot Booking:

 

1. The candidate has to enter the Login Credentials.

 

2. After the enter the Login Credentials, the candidates will have to choose the time and the date of their choice and reconfirm the choice of their city of examination chosen during the registration process.

 

3. The Admit Card will be generated after the slot booking is completed successfully.

VITMEE 2020 - Admit Card:

 

1. The candidates must not mutilate the Admit Card or alter any entry made therein.

 

2. The Admit Card is not transferable to any other person. Impersonation is a legally punishable offence.

 

3. The Admit Card will contain your name, registration number, photograph, Signature, your postal address, slot, date of examination and also the address of your test centre, test schedule and set of instructions for the test.

 

4. The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card once received. Any discrepancy should be immediately brought to the notice of the Director (PG Admissions). pgadmission@vit.ac.in or +91-416-2202188.

 

5. Applicants will not be permitted to write the test without a valid admit card. The Admit Card should be presented to the invigilators at the test centre for verification.

 

6. The candidates must sign the attendance sheet at the appropriate places at the test centre. The fingerprint of the candidate writing the examination will be recorded and later verified at the time of counselling.

 

7. The Admit Card should be preserved and produced for verification at the time of Interview/ admission.

 

8. Candidates are not eligible for admission in case the applicant violates any instruction or involves unfair means in the examination hall.

  • The admit card has been announced by the Institution on Last week of May 2020 (Tentative) through online mode.

 

  • All candidates can download admit cards on the Official Website of the exam.

Test day Requirements

The Admit Card is an important document; it must be preserved and produced at the time of admission also.

 

Report to the selected test centre with two copies of the Hall Ticket, one photocopy of the application form and any one of the following for photo identification:

  • Be present at the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned in the e-Admit card.

 

  • Register your name in the registration counter and carry the e-Admit card and a valid ID proof for verification.

 

  • Sit in your allotted seat only.

 

  • Maintain perfect silence and work on your testing process only.

 

  • Sign the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator.
  • Not allowed to carry any text material, printed or written, bits of papers or any material except the e-Admit card inside the test hall.

 

  • Not permitted to carry any electronic devices like mobile phones, paging devices, calculators, spy cameras and music systems.

 

  • Not allowed to go outside the test hall until the completion of the entire duration of the exam time.

 

  • Not allowed to eat or drink anything (snacks, tea, coffee and cool drinks etc.) inside the test hall. Plain water bottles with nothing written or printed on them will be allowed.

 

  • Violation of any instruction and adoption of any unfair means in the examination hall will make the candidate ineligible for admission.

 

  • Impersonation (or any such crimes) will be reported to Police.

Result

VITMEE 2020 - Results

Marks of VITMEE 2020 will be displayed right after the completion of the online test. The results of VITMEE 2020 will be declared on the Official Website on June 2020. The result will contain the name, application number/ roll number of the candidates selected for further rounds of the admission process.

Counselling

VITMEE 2020 - Counselling
  • The University will shortlist the candidates for interview round on the basis of their marks obtained in the entrance exam.
  • The candidate should produce the admit card at the time of interview. Candidates will be short-listed for counselling on the basis of their performance in the VIT Master’s Entrance Examination (VITMEE) Rank.
  • Selected candidates should pay an advance of Rs.11,800/- towards counselling fee. The counselling fees is Non-Refundable, but it will be adjusted in the tuition fees once the candidate joins the Institute. (Only Computerised DD will be accepted payable to “Vellore Institute of Technology”, at Vellore). The candidate’s name will be removed from the admission list if he/ she fails to pay the advance at the time of the Interview.

Answer

I am GATE qualified candidate. If I apply for VITMEE, am I eligible to get GATE scholarship?

If you apply for VITMEE and qualify in VITMEE because you have already qualified in GATE, you will be eligible for GATE Scholarship. Admissions done before or after GATE are not allowed for the scholarship. Creamy layer candidates who have qualified under OBC category also are not eligible for this scholarship.

I am in B.Tech final year, can I fill the form?

Yes, but you need to show the passing certificate by 15th August 2020.

 What will be the mode of the exam?

It will be a CBT (Computer Based Exam).

 In which mode will VITMEE 2020 take place and what will be the type of questions asked in the examination?

VITMEE 2020 will take place online (computer based test) consisting of multiple choice questions.

When VITMEE admit cards will be released?

VITMEE admit cards will be released only after slot booking. Candidates will not get their admit cards before slot booking. Also, it is mandatory to carry the admit card to the examination hall failing to which, the candidate would not be able to sit in the examination.

When will VITMEE slot booking start?

VITMEE slot booking will commence from the Last week of May 2020 and it will be done on first come first serve basis. A confirmation mail will be automatically sent to the candidates after slot booking. After slot booking, only candidates will get their admit card.

Yes.

After VITMEE, when will the counselling begin?

VITMEE Counselling will begin from June 20, 2020, tentatively. The counselling will be held separately for courses.

When do I have to submit my original documents for VITMEE admission?

You have to submit your original documents at the time of admission. They will be verified by the college authorities and then they will keep it themselves. The dates for document verification will be announced on the VIT website.
