NCHM JEE 2020 National Council for Hotel management joint entrance examination is a National Level exam conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to the B.Sc. Course in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B.Sc.HHA)  across the Country. Aspirants are offered admission at 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 19 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management, 1 Public Sector Undertaking, 14 Private Institutes of Hotel Management and 9 Food Craft Institutes that are affiliated to NCHM JEE.

 Age Limit
  • For candidates from General and OBC categories, the upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2020. Candidates born on or after July 01, 1995 are eligible.

 

  • In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, the upper age limit is 28 years as on 01.07.2020. That is SC/ST candidates born on or after July 01, 1992 are eligible.
Qualifying Examination
  • A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination.

 

For Indian National:

  • Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education. Intermediate or two-year PreUniversity Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

  • Go to the official website of NTA Hotel Management.

 

  • Look for NCHM JEE Application.

 

  • At the first time, the candidate needs to register for the Application form and note down the generated application form number and created the password.

 

  • Complete the Application Form Candidate can log in with the system generated Application Number and created Password for completing the Application Form.

 

  • Upload Scanned Images of Candidate Photograph and Candidate Signature.

 

  • Pay the application fee by Debit/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ e-Challan.

NCHM JEE 2020 Exam Day Instructions

  • Candidates must carry the Admit Card to the examination room. anyone who fails to do so will be prevented from taking the exam.

 

  • It is advisable to have on hand a copy of the admit card, which can serve as a future reference.

 

  • One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) should be taken for pasting on the specific space in the attendance sheet at Centre during NCHM Examination.

 

  • A candidate must bring his/ her valid Original documents like PAN, Aadhar, or any document issued by Govt with a photo.

 

  • PwD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category.

 

  • The candidates shall report at the Examination Centre two hours before the commencement of the examination so as to complete the frisking and registration formalities well before the time. the Registration desk will be closed 60 minutes prior to the examination.

 

  • If possible, you are advised to visit your exam Center day a day before the exam as it’ll be helpful for you to track the actual time to reach the centre on exam day and help in avoiding panic.

 

  • The fear of exam can lower your confidence so never let your fear overpower your confidence. It’s your confidence which will ultimately keep you high and boost your winning strategy. It’s just an exam like others that you have been appearing for.

 

  • Smoking, chewing Ghutka, spitting etc. in the Examination Room/ Hall is strictly prohibited.

 

  • Candidates are NOT allowed to carry Instrument/ Geometry/ Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, Any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, Camera, Tape Recorder, any metallic item or electronic gadgets etc. in the Examination Room/ Hall.

  • All India merit list of candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the NCHM-JEE Computer Based Test (CBT).

 

  • In case candidates secure equal marks, the merit will be determined as under.

 Tie-Breaking Procedure:

 

  • Candidate securing higher marks in English component of JEE shall rank higher.

 

  • In case of candidates securing equal marks in NCHM-JEE, as well as in English component NCHM-JEE, then the candidate securing higher marks in Service Aptitude Component of NCHM-JEE shall rank higher.

 

  • In case of a tie in (i) and (ii) above, the candidate older in age shall rank higher.

Counselling

NCHM JEE 2020 Counselling Process

There are three rounds of counselling for admissions on the basis of NCHM JEE ranks. These are:

 

  • First Round of Counselling
  • Second Round of Counselling
  • Spot Round

 

 The first two rounds of NCHM JEE 2020 counselling process are web-based/online and in the Spot round or third round of counselling, students need to physically appear at the admission centre to take part and complete the counselling process.

 

 The tasks performed at the time of NCHM JEE counselling 2020 include:

 

  • Checking the eligibility of candidates
  • Verification of documents
  • Depositing counselling fee and first-semester fee
  • Selecting colleges as per preference.

 

  • After aspirants have selected their college preference, they have to fill the names of colleges as per their preference and also keep in mind the colleges that are available to them for admission on the basis of their rank in NCHM JEE 2020  and lock the same.

 

  • This college preference list/ choice list will be valid for two rounds of counselling. Also, after students are allotted admission (or a seat) in a specific college on the basis of online counselling then they have to appear (physically) at a designated admission centre in order to complete the admission process.

 

 The tasks to be completed at the admission centre include:

 

  • Verification of documents
  • Submission of the initial fee
  • Upgradation of choices
  • Collection of provisional admission/seat allotment letters

 

Note: 

When appearing for the counselling round, candidates need to pay seat acceptance fee amounting to Rs 57,500. Here, Rs 1,000 is the counselling fee and the rest (Rs 56,500) is the academic fee for the first semester of the hotel management course.

  • Any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in a foreign country recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.

 

  • HSC Vocational Examination approved by NCVT and SCVT of the concerned state.

 

  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects, result of which should be available up to September 30, 2020.

What is NCHM JEE 2020 Mock Counselling?

As part of the admission process, a very helpful initiative undertaken by authorities is NCHM JEE is mock counselling.

Mock counselling is conducted to help familiarise candidates with the entire online counselling process. In mock counselling, aspirants can see the probability and means through which they will be allotted seats for admissions on the basis of their rank in NCHMCT JEE 2020 in the college of their choice. 

Who can take part in NCHM JEE 2020 Second Round of Counselling?

The below-mentioned aspirants can take back in 2nd round of counselling conducted by NCHM for Hotel Management course admissions:

  • Group–I (Fresh candidates): Any aspirant who has not been allotted any seat in the first counselling round.

 

  • Group–II (Cancelled candidates): Any aspirant whose NCHMCT JEE seat got cancelled in the first round of counselling because of non-fulfilment of allotment criteria.

 

  • Group–III (Reported and Freeze candidates): Candidates who reported to their counselling centre and selected the “Freeze” option."Those candidates would not be allowed to submit fresh choices or modify choices. Their earlier allotted seat would be retained; however their allotted category may be upgraded as per business rules", informs the official website.

 

  • Group–IV (Reported and Float candidates): Aspirants who selected the "float" option in the earlier counselling round are allowed to take part in this counselling round so that they can "modify/add new choices or their existing choices would be considered for up-gradation. If they want to modify their choices they can do so but their previously allotted seat (allotted Institute) will remain as a valid choice in this round. The System will not permit the candidates to delete this choice; however they can rearrange this choice (Move-UP or Move-Down) as per their order of preference", ", informs NCHM.
What is Spot Round of NCHM JEE 2020 Counselling?

The third and final round of the counselling process for NCHM JEE 2020 is the Spot Counselling round. Aspirants need to register online for Spot Round of NCHM JEE 2020 counselling. Students meet the eligibility criteria to register for this round of counselling if they fulfil any of the below-mentioned criteria:

  • Did not register for round 1 and round 2 of NCHM JEE 2020 Main Counselling including absentees of main Counselling.
  • Registered for Round 1 of Counselling and also secured admission in the first or second round of counselling but did not report at the admission centre to complete all the admission formalities.
  • Withdrew before the Spot counselling round.
  • Secured admission provisionally.
