IITM Online Degree Program|Programming & data science

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has launched an online diploma and BSc programme in data science and programming. The candidates who have passed class 12 can also eligible for this program. Candidates can check the IITM Online Degree Program|BSc in programming and data science along with application strat date and closing date. 

The program was launched by the Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and the Minister of State, Human Resource Development, Sanjay Dhotre. Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman, AICTE, Rakesh Ranjan, Additional Secretary, MHRD, Pawan Kumar Goenka, Chairman, BoG, IIT Madras and MD and CEO Mahendra&Mahendra Ltd and Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras were present during the online launch.

The program has two entry points and three exit points. Those with a class XII certificate can enter the foundation level course. Upon completion, they can either exit the program with a certificate or move to the diploma level. Those who have a bachelor's degree can skip the foundation level course and enter the diploma level directly.

The course has no age limit and students who have passed class 12 can also apply for the IITM Online Degree Program.

1. Diploma in Programming

2. Diploma in Data Science

3. BSc Degree in Programming and Data Science

The program is split into three levels that have to be completed strictly in sequence:

1: Foundational Level (8 courses)

2: Diploma Level (6 Programming courses + 6 Data Science courses)

3: Degree Level (11 courses)

4 weeks of online courses and assignments to be completed.

Those who get minimum required scores in weekly assignments in the 4 weeks will get to write Qualifier Exam broadly based on the 4 weeks of content.

Those who get minimum required scores in Qualifier Exam get to register for Foundational Level courses.
