AP PGECET Eligibility 2020
Educational Qualification

The Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for APPGECET:


(i) They should be of Indian Nationality.


(ii) They should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.


(iii) They should have obtained a relevant Bachelors qualifying degree or its equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% marks ( 45% in case of reserved category candidates) from an AICTE/UGC approved institution recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto for admission into the relevant M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Pharmacy/Pharm.D(PB) courses into the Courses corresponding to the Degrees as given in the following Annexure.


(iv) Candidates who are pursuing a B.Tech or its equivalent / B.pharm. the course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant M.E./M.Tech./ M.Pharmacy/Pharm.D(PB) courses provided they have completed the prescribed course and passed all the subjects for the award of the degree by the concerned university on the date of counselling for admission into the colleges.

Local Candidature

(a) If he/she has studied in educational Institution or educational Institutions in such local area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be, first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination.

 

(b) Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of 10 years excluding periods of study outside the State or either of whose parents have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding the period of employment outside the State.

 

(c) Candidates who are children of parents who are in the employment of this State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi-public Institutions, within the State.

 

(d) Candidates who are spouses of those in the employment of the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and Educational Institutions recognized by the Government or University OR other competent authority and similar quasi Government Institutions within the State.

 

(e) A candidate who migrates to any part of the State of Andhra Pradesh from the State of Telangana within a period of FIVE years from the 2nd day of June, 2014 shall be regarded as the local candidate in the State of Andhra Pradesh at the place of his residence and be treated at par with the local candidates residing in that area, in accordance with such guidelines as may be issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the purpose of education.

Note:

 

i) Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

 

ii) While filling up the seats in colleges, first preference will be given to candidates qualified in GATE / GPAT in the relevant based on their test scores and the remaining seats with the candidates qualified in APPGECET-2020as per their merit ranks.

 

iii) Each of the Universities has different Course-Wise Eligibility Criteria for admission into various Post Graduate Programmes. Candidates are advised to go through the .pdf files for reference available in the Eligibility Tab in the website www.sche.ap.gov.in/pgecet.

Time Management

Time Management is the key to success if you are preparing for any entrance exam.

You have to manage the time & set out a timetable according to a syllabus.

Choice of right study material is very important.

You can choose the best AP PGECET reference books of your course. 

You also have to practice the objective type questions along with the reading of textbooks. You can discuss your doubts with your seniors, teachers, classmates, etc.

Stay Fit & Healthy

You also have to take care of your health to prepare well for the examination.

Physical Fitness is also very important besides the study. Eat well & sleep well for better preparation.

You should take at least 6-7 hours of comfortable sleep.

Previous Year Question Papers & Mock Test

You have to collect the previous year question papers & model papers. Solve each & every question of the paper.

Acceptable ID’s include (must be original, valid and nonexpired)–Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhar card, etc.

 

Note: Candidates are NOT allowed to carry Instrument/ Geometry/ Pencil box, Any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material) or electronic gadgets etc., in the Examination Room/ Hall.

All the candidates shall take utmost care while submitting the online application with regard to the subject paper chosen for the test. Request for change of test paper will not be entertained. Candidates are not permitted to enter or leave the examination hall in the scheduled time of the examination.

The Online Answer Script images of AP PGECET -2019 will be preserved for six months from the date of publication of results after which time they shall be disposed of.

All the photographs submitted with the application must be exactly identical. Otherwise, candidates will not be permitted into the examination hall.
It is the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that they are answering the correct Question Paper of the branch for which they are eligible for admission. The rank obtained with the benefit of relaxation of minimum qualifying marks at the AP PGECET-2019 by any candidate, claiming to belong to SC/ST category, will be cancelled in case the claim is found to be invalid later or at any point of time.
The Candidate should preserve the hall ticket to produce it at the time of test and later at the time of entry into the course.

The Convener is not responsible for the non–submission of application by the notified date and time for any reason whatsoever.

Candidates are advised to practice the mock tests placed on the website and familiarize with the mode of attempting the online test. The appearance at AP PGECET – 2019 does not entitle any candidate to be considered for entry into the course automatically.

Procedure to check the Result

Step 1: Visit the Official Website of AP PGECET 2020.

 

Step 2: Candidate should Navigate Results tab.

 

Step 3: For Results, enter their Registration Number, PGECET Hall Ticket Number, Click View Result and Check out the Results.

 

Step 4: Enter their Registration Number, PGECET Hall Ticket Number, Date of Birth and then click View Rank Card.

 

Step 5: The online Rank-card for AP PGECET 2020 will appear on the screen.

What is the Conducting Body for AP PGECET?

It is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of APSCHE annually. 

I am a GATE qualifier, do I have to appear for AP PGECET ? No, candidates having a valid GATE score are exempted from taking the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test.
Can I appear for more than one test scheduled on the same day in different sessions? Will I be allotted the same AP PGECET Exam Center? In this case, the authority allows the same exam centre to appear for both the papers scheduled on the same day.

Is there any method to apply offline for AP PGECET? No, you can only apply online for the state level examination.
 Is there any other method to submit the application fee other than the online method?  Yes, you can also make fee payment by visiting the AP online centres.
Can I apply for multiple courses through AP PGECET? Yes, you can apply for multiple courses depending upon your eligibility for the course. If you meet the criteria then you need to mention the same while filling in the application form.

 Do I need to upload my certificates during online application?

No, there is no need to upload any certificates during your online application. However, if you belong to SC / ST category then you need to bring a photocopy copy of the Caste Certificate duly attested to the examination hall.

When will the Admit Card be released? Admit Card will be released from 25 April 2020.
I do not have Aadhaar card, can I apply for AP PGECET? No, Aadhaar card is mandatory to apply for the examination. It is advisable to apply for the document as soon as possible.
What is the Date of Examination? In which Mode is it Conducted? AP PGECET 2019 Online Exam is going to be held from 02 May 2019 to 02 May 2020.
I have applied for two courses; will I get the same exam centre for both the exams of both the courses? Most likely, a candidate gets the same centre if you have the exam on the same day.

When will AP PGECET results be declared? AP PGECET Results will be declared on 15 May 2019.
Do I need to pay a different fee for different courses? Yes, you will have to pay a different fee to appear for the exam of different courses.
Do I need to send my application form to the exam conducting authority? No, you don’t need to send your application form, you only have to apply online for the exam.
What is AP PGECET Cut Off to qualify the exam? Qualifying percentage marks in AP PGECET is 30 marks out of a total of 120. However, for SC/ST aspirants, there would be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking the aspirants.
