 B.A.LL.B.(Hons.)
  • All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis.

 

  • Have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination thereto securing in the aggregate not less than 50% of the total marks. The Eligibility condition for admission of students under the Foreign Nationals Category shall be 65% marks in the Higher Secondary School Examination of (10+2) system or an equivalent examination. They are exempted from taking the admission test. The other regulations regarding the eligibility for admission will be the same as applicable to the other candidates. The candidates belonging to OCI/PIO category shall have the option to either apply under the Foreign National Category or under the category of Indian students. In case the OCI/PIO candidate apply under the category of Indian National, they have to appear in the All Indian Law Entrance Test along with other students.
LL.M
  • All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis.

 

  • To be eligible for admission to the LL. M. Programme, a candidate should have passed the LL.B. or an equivalent degree from a recognised University with not less than 55% marks on aggregate (50% in case of reserved categories, i.e. SC/ST/Persons with Disability).

 

  • Candidates awaiting results of the qualifying examination can appear for the Entrance Test subject to a condition that they produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

 

Foreign Nationals Candidates:

 

  • They are exempted from taking the admission test. The other regulations regarding the eligibility for admission will be the same as applicable to the other candidates. The candidates belonging to OCI/PIO category shall have the option to either apply under the Foreign National Category or under the category of Indian students. In case the OCI/PIO candidate apply under the category of Indian National, they have to appear in the All Indian Law Entrance Test along with other students.

 

  • The Academic record of LL.B. or equivalent degree recognized by the UGC/ Association of Indian Universities with not less than 55% marks or the equivalent grade.

 

  • Assessment of necessary communication skills in written and spoken English and performance at the interview in terms of aptitude and capacity.
Ph D
  • A Master's degree in law or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree in law by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

Steps to download Admit Card:

 

Step 1: Go to the Official Website of AILET.

 

Step 2: Enter Application Number/ E-Mail ID and Password/ Date of Birth.

 

Step 3: After entering the details, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

 

Step 4: AILET admit card will be displayed on the screen.

 

Step 5: Verify all the details printed in the admit card.

It is a law which basically deals with crimes. It includes threatening, harmful, or otherwise endangering to the property, health, safety, and moral welfare of people inclusive of one's self.

Time Table:

Making a timetable is not a bad idea. It actually helps to solve the riddle of what to study first. Divide your time in a way that all your subject matters are covered properly.

This will help you gain an idea about the types of questions that can appear in the actual exam. Sometimes, it can also serve to be a good guess material too. AILET 2020 - Test Day Instructions

AILET 2020 - Exam Day Instructions:

 

  • The AILET 2020 admit card is an important document without which the candidate will not be allowed inside the exam hall; in fact, the candidate must keep it safe and undamaged until the admission process is over.
  • Candidates have to bring their own stationary things like blue/black ballpoint pens to darken the circles in the given OMR Sheet.
  • Candidates are also requested to check the instructions before they attend the entrance exam.
  • The candidates must sign on the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place.
  • Approach the hall invigilator in the room for any technical assistance, first aid emergency or any other information during the course of the examination.
  • Candidates who reach the centre with no admit card and proofs of identity will not be allowed to write the test.
  • No candidate is allowed to carry any baggage inside the examination hall.
  • Books, printed papers (other than their Admit Cards), Manuscripts or electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, cell phones and electronic diary, calculators etc, must not be taken into the examination hall.
  • Malpractice of any form detected during or after the examination is liable to the cancellation of candidature.
  • Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the examination is over.

The AILET 2020 result will be announced on 28th May 2020 on the official AILET 2020 website.

 

On the basis of the marks secured in the AILET 2020 results online, a result merit list will be prepared for candidates. This AILET 2020 result merit list will be prepared separately according to all the categories.

AILET 2020 - Counselling

The counselling list will be announced after the declaration of the result on 28th May 2020 for B.A LLB and 08th June for LLM. The list of candidates shortlisted for AILET 2020 Counselling will be available on the Official Website of NLU-D in a PDF format. The selected candidates will get an admission letter from the University.

 

  • Spot Counselling list will be announced after the confirmation of the first list candidates.

 

  • Counselling for each course will take place separately.

 

  • Selected students will have to pay the admission-cum-counselling fee in order to reserve a seat for admission in NLU-D. At the time of counselling, the candidate must carry relevant documents with himself/herself.

AILET 2020 - Counselling Procedure
  • Before appearing in the counselling procedure, candidates are required to download the list of shortlisted candidates for counselling in the pdf format.
  • If your name exists in the list then please wait for the admission letter which will be sent to you by National Law University, Delhi officially.
  • After receiving an official admission letter candidates need to remit the prescribed counselling fee.
  • Once the fee has been received by the admission authority then you’ll get another confirmation from the NLU.

 

Seat Distribution:

There is a total of 80 seats for BA LLB courses. 70 seats will be filled through AILET merit & remaining 10 seats will be reserved for direct admission to Foreign Nationals. For LLM course, there are total 40 seats out of which 35 seats will be filled through AILET & 5 seats will be reserved for Foreign Nationals. For PhD courses, there will be only 5 seats.

 

AILET Spot Counselling Round:

 

  • National Law University, Delhi conducts a spot counselling round if seats remain vacant in any course offered at NLU Delhi after the last date to deposit fee basis the merit list for AILET exam is over. Candidates are informed that AILET spot counselling round is conducted only to fill vacant seats.

 

  • Once the counselling rounds (basis merit lists) of AILET exam are over, NLU Delhi conducts Spot Counselling round in which only those candidates can participate whose names are present in AILET merit list 2020 waiting list category. After AILET 2020 Spot Counselling round is over no further admission/counselling rounds are conducted by NLU Delhi.

Candidates who will be issued call letters to participate in the counselling of AILET 2020, will be required to carry the below-mentioned documents with themselves.

 

  • AILET Call Letter issued by NLU Delhi.
  • AILET 2020 Admit Card.

  • Self -Attested 10th and 12th Class Certificate and mark sheets.
  • Self- Attested BA LLB mark sheet (for LLM and PhD programs).
  • Self- Attested LLM mark sheets (for PhD Program).
  • A valid Research Proposal (for PhD program).
  • Self -Attested Character Certificate from the school last attended.
  • Caste Certificate signed by the concerned authority.

 I am in final year of graduation; can I appear for LLM exam?

No, you cannot appear for LLM exam directly, it is essential that you qualify the LLB exam before appearing for LLM exam.

 I completed my class 12 from UP Board in 2016. Currently, I am doing a BA, from Delhi University. If I write AILET can I apply directly in the third year of BA LLB (Hons.)? No, there is no provision of lateral entry in the BA LLB course, you can, however, enrol in the 1st year of the program.
My niece is willing to pursue LLB in Delhi, she is from Kashmir. Is there any reservation criteria for Kashmiri Domiciled, if yes then how much?
She is eligible to appear for AILET, but there are only 2 seats know as supernumerary seats in AILET. 
I have completed my diploma in Law from IGNOU. It is named as DIPP, can I apply for LLM on the basis of it?  As per the AILET eligibility criteria for LLM, one must have a degree in LLB. So, you are not eligible for LLM program admission.
 I am 38 years of age, I have completed my LLM degree from Rajasthan University. Now, I want to do Ph.D., so am I eligible for AILET for PhD?
Yes, as there is no upper age limit for the PhD program in NLU you can apply for AILET.
I have heard that now there are no age criteria for AILET exam, Supreme court has removed the age bar, is it right? Yes, it is correct, the Supreme court has removed the age bar from the AILET exam.
I am a resident of Delhi and have done my entire academic qualification from Delhi. Is there state reservation for Delhi students?
No, there are no seats reserved for Delhi students. All the seats are available to be filled through the counselling on the basis of reservation policy.

 What is the application start date? The online application for AILET was started on 15th January 2020.
 I registered for AILET and have submitted the photocopy of my DD in the bank. What to do? In this case, you can send a letter through speed post, which contains the original draft and a letter at the same official address of AILET. Send a cover letter along with the original draft makes sure it reaches the office before the last date.
What is the application fee for AILET 2020? The application fee for AILET for General category candidates is INR 3050, SC category are required to pay a fee of INR 1050
What should I do if I forget my Login ID and Password?
In order to retrieve the credentials, log in to your registered E-mail account to know the Login ID and Password. After successful registration, NLU Delhi will send a registration confirmation mail, having your ID and Password. However, candidates can also click on the ‘Forgot Password’ option to re-generate a password and access the account to download the admit card of AILET.
