Introduction

VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination) is conducted by the VIT University. VITEEE is a university level entrance exam to get admission in the four years of B.Tech programme in various streams offered by VIT campuses at Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amravati. VITEEE 2020 - Online Slot Booking

Online Slot Booking

VITEEE 2020 slot booking is a process that all applicants will have to register to book their exam slots and generate their admission card.  It is to be noted that the slot booking of VITEEE 2020 is done on a first come first serve basis.

 

Procedure of VITEEE 2020 Slot Booking:

 Go through the VITEEE Slot Booking

1. The candidate has to enter the Login Credentials.

2. After the enter the Login Credentials, the candidates will have to choose the time and the date of their choice and reconfirm the choice of their city of examination chosen during the registration process.

3. The Admit Card will be generated after the slot booking is completed successfully.

Important Instructions for Slot Booking

 

  • The slot booking schedule will be released on or one day before 3rd week of Mar 2020 (Tentatively). The password will be sent through SMS to all the successful applicants.
  • For Slot/Hall Ticket booking, please try with Mozila Fire Fox browser.
  • Clear all the old cookies using C-Cleaner or press F5 to refresh the webpage before your slot booking.
  • Candidates are strictly advised to give utmost care in selecting the test subjects, PCME / PCBE in VITEEE-2019. PCME (Physics/Chemistry/Maths/English) candidates are eligible for all B.Tech. programmes. PCBE (Physics/Chemistry/Biology/English) candidates are only eligible for B.Tech. Bio-stream programmes.
  • Even though you have filled the VITEEE-2020 test subject on OMR/Online, carefully choose the subject once again at the time of slot booking. The selected subjects will be not changed, under any circumstances.
  • In case of any correction or typo error on your Name / Date Of Birth / Gender etc., on your hall ticket page, please go for the slot booking first. The necessary corrections can be done at the time of counselling/ Admission. Book your slot first and proceed for VITEEE-2020 exam.
  • If Photo/Sign is not printed on your Hall Ticket, do not panic. Carry one passport size photo with one valid photo identity proof to the Exam centre without fail.
  • It is the candidates responsibility to refer the schedule and pattern of exam given on the website www.vit.ac.in. and select the Exam date / session/ Venue as per schedule, without fail. The candidates are also requested to refer the instructions given on the e-admit card / hall ticket. 
  • Change on the Exam Test City / Test Cente / Exam Date / Slot / Subject (selected by you), will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • VIT is not responsible for your system failure or any local network failure during the slot booking.

Test day Requirements

The Admit Card is an important document; it must be preserved and produced at the time of admission also.  

Report to the selected test centre with two copies of the Hall Ticket, one photocopy of the application form and any one of the following for photo identification:

  • Be present at the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned in the e-Admit card.
  • Register your name in the registration counter and carry the e-Admit card and a valid ID proof for verification.
  • Sit in your allotted seat only.
  • Maintain perfect silence and work on your testing process only.
  • Sign the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator.
  • Not allowed to carry any text material, printed or written, bits of papers or any material except the e-Admit card inside the test hall.
  • Not permitted to carry any electronic devices like mobile phones, paging devices, calculators, spy cameras and music systems.
  • Not allowed to go outside the test hall till the completion of the entire duration of the exam time.
  • Not allowed to eat or drink anything (snacks, tea, coffee and cool drinks etc.) inside the test hall. Plain water bottles with nothing written or printed on them will be allowed.
  • Violation of any instruction and adoption of any unfair means in the examination hall will make the candidate ineligible for admission.
  • Impersonation (or any such crimes) will be reported to Police.

Result

VITEEE 2020 - Results

Marks of VITEEE 2020 will be displayed right after the completion of the online test. An applicant who will give the test can check VITEEE 2020 Results for Merit list after the conduction of all the three sessions. The result will contain the name, application number/roll number of the candidates selected for further rounds of the admission process.

Cut-Offs

VITEEE 2020 - Cut Offs

VIT University does not announce any official cut off. However, it is just the closing rank considered for admission on the basis of the exam. VITEEE closing rank will be declared after the result of the VITEEE. Based on the score of the candidate, he/ she is assigned a rank. The rank of the candidate determines his/her admission in different branches of engineering at its two campuses located at Chennai and Vellore. Candidates must fall in the specified VITEEE cutoff range, to be able to secure admission.

 

How to Check VITEEE Cut Off

 

Candidates can follow the below steps to check their VITEEE Cut off for 2020:

 

  1. Go to the VITEEE Official Website.

 

  1. Click the link to open the respective examination.

 

  1. After this, click the relevant link to view the cutoff.

 

  1. Fill your roll number and DOB to check their VITEEE Cut off.

 

  1. Press on submit button to view scorecard online on the screen.

 

  1. Now the scorecard will open in the computer screen.

Factors Affecting VITEEE 2020 Cut Off

 

The cut-off list specifies the minimum score, which VIT will consider for selecting the candidates for admission in different branches of Engineering. VITEEE cut-off is not declared by VIT University. However, the VITEEE 2020 closing rank can be considered as a cutoff for admission in different branches of undergraduate engineering programmes. The VITEEE closing rank may vary every year. There is a number of factors that affect the cut-off/ closing rank every year. Some of them are enlisted.

 

  • Number of registered candidates in VITEEE 2020.

 

  • The number of students appearing in the exam.

 

  • The Level of  Difficulty of the question paper.

 

  • Previous years Cut Off marks.

 

  • Number of seats available for a particular course.

VITEEE Cut Off Key Points

 

Here are the few important points that an aspirant must keep in mind for VITEEE Cut-off:

 

  • VITEEE 2020 is an online mode that will be conducted in three sessions every day.

 

  • VIT is not to declare any minimum qualifying marks for the admission of students to various courses offered.

 

  • VIT uses equating method to calculate the rank of a candidate. The Equating method is based on the percentile method. In this method candidates with equivalent percentile in different test forms will be considered on the same rank.

 

  • The Actual VITEEE 2020 Cut-off rank will be officially declared by the VIT University after the declaration of results. Candidates qualifying the entrance test will be called for the counselling process.

 

  • The examinees getting the top merit that is from rank 1 to 20,000 are called for participation in the VIT Counselling on different days. In the first phase of counselling, the closing rank for the particular branch of B.Tech can be termed as the cut-off rank of the VITEEE 2020 for that particular branch.

Eligible students must register to take advantage of the consultancy on the VIT website. Only registered candidates can participate in the VITEEE Counseling 2020 round. Candidates must follow the steps below to participate in VITEEE Counseling 2020.

VITEEE 2020 - Counselling Procedure

The counselling procedure for allocating different branches of engineering is based on the All India Rank in VITEEE 2020. Eligible students must register for counselling on the website of VIT. Only the registered aspirants can attend the VITEEE Counselling 2020 round. Candidates must follow the below steps to participate in VITEEE Counselling 2020.

 Reporting/Registration: 

  • Candidates will have to report to the counselling centre and get registered. The designated venue and schedule will be allotted to the candidates according to their rank scored in VITEEE 2020. They will have to select any campus or branch as per the availability based on their rank.

 Document Verification: 

  • After registration, the candidates will have to get the required documents verified. 

 Allotment:

  • Candidates will be allotted the branch and campus as per the rank/score in the entrance exam, the order of preference and availability of seat.

 Uploading of required images:

  • The required images of the photograph/ fingerprint/ digital signature will have to be uploaded.

 Student Profile:

  • Candidates are required to upload documents on the student profile.

 Fee Payment:

  • The selected candidates will have to submit a DD for Rs 50,000/- in favour of 'Vellore Institute of Technology', payable at Vellore, on the confirmation of seat and acceptance of branch allotted. This includes Rs 11,800/- towards counselling processing fee. A Counselling processing fee is NON-REFUNDABLE but will be adjusted in the tuition fees once the candidate joins the Institute.

Counselling procedure for allocation of seats/ branch

The counselling for allocation of branches to the shortlisted candidates is based on their All India Rank (AIR) in VITEEE 2020. A candidate may obtain this information on our website or by calling the VIT office, a day after the declaration of the results of VITEEE-2020.


VIT is in no way responsible for information regarding counselling not reaching the candidates. They should check the VIT website: www.vit.ac.in for information about counselling. No change of date/ time of counselling is permissible.


It is mandatory to submit the required documents as mentioned below at the time of counselling If the mark statement of the qualifying exam has not been received before the date of counselling, the candidate would have to furnish an undertaking stating that if he/she fails to qualify as per the norms, it would lead him/ her to forego his/ her seat.


Candidate will not be permitted to attend counselling more than once under any circumstances. Similarly, no change of campus and change of branch will be entertained.

The candidates should produce the following documents in original along with two sets of photocopies while reporting for counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the counselling process without these documents.

 


• VITEEE-2020 e-Admit Card, Counselling Admit card and VITEEE Result copy.


• Class X Board Certificate as a proof of date of birth or any other age proof Certificate.


• Mark sheet of Qualifying Examination (If available).

• Transfer Certificate/ School Leaving Certificate.

For VITEEE, candidates need to have passed 10+2 from State or CBSE board with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

How much should I have in Class 12 to apply for VITEEE?

Candidates must have 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology in aggregate in 10+2. However, candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories and North-East need 50% in aggregate in the above-mentioned subjects.

I belong to a North-East state. What will be my eligibility for VITEEE?

Candidates from North East need 50% aggregate in 10+2 or equivalent exam in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology.

When will the application forms for VITEEE be available from?

The VITEEE application form is available from the first week of November in online mode and in the second week of November in offline mode tentatively.

Are the dates different for both online and offline applications?

The opening dates for online and offline application form of VITEEE is different, however, the closing dates are the same. These dates vary from year to year.

I made mistakes in my application. Will there be correction dates for VITEEE? There is an edit option available before downloading or printing the online application form. Candidates can make changes in the application form except for email Id, mobile number, address details etc.and submit it till the last prescribed date.

To be able to download the admit card of VITEEE, candidates will have to book their desired slots which they will be able to do in the third week of March.

Candidates will be called for VITEEE counselling on the basis of their ranks in the entrance exam. Rank holders of 1 to 99999 will be invited, beyond that candidates will not be entertained.
