Introduction

Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test (Sikkim TET) 2020 is a State Level Entrance Examination for appointment as Primary Teacher for Classes I to V and for Elementary (Graduate) Teacher for Classes VI to VIII in the state. It is conducted by the Sikkim Human Resource Development Department. Sikkim TET 2020 is scheduled for 21 September 2019 in Offline Mode. Eligibility

Sikkim TET 2019 - Eligibility

Minimum Educational Qualification for becoming a Primary Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage):

 

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed or appearing* in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education ( D. El. Ed).

 

OR

 

  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed)

 

OR

 

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed or appearing* in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Minimum Qualification for becoming a Graduate Teacher for classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):

 

  • A./B.Sc./ with 50% marks , for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC (Central), OBC (State)and passed or appearing* in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.)

 

OR

Sikkim TET 2019 Exam Fee Payment

Exam fee should be deposited in favour of Joint Director/ Examinations, HRDD from any bank or branches of IDBI Bank (IDBI Account Number:0108102000006767, Branch: Gangtok).

Print-Out of the Online Application forms along with relevant documents should be submitted at Room No.308 of HRDD Secretariat from 02nd September 2019 to 06th September 2019 from 10:00 AM to 03:30 PM.

Syllabus

Paper Nature and Content of Questions
Paper-I
  • The Test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning relevant to the age group of 6-11years.

 

  • The Test items for Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of instruction that is English.

 

  • The Language-II will be from among the prescribed options other than Language-I. A candidate may choose from any one of the vernaculars being taught in the schools of Sikkim from Classes I to V. The applicants will have to specify the language in his/her Application form.

 

  • The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understandings of the subjects prescribed for classes I to V in the State.

 

The questions will be based on the syllabus for classes I to V, but their difficulty level, as well as linkage, will be up to the secondary stage.

Paper-II
  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group 11-14 years.

 

  • The test items for Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction, that is English.

 

  • The Language- II will be a language other than Language- I. The person may choose any one language from among the available options being taught in Classes VI to VIII in the schools in Sikkim. The test items in Language-II will also focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

 

  • The test items in Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each and will focus on the Concepts, Problem Solving Abilities and Pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

 

  • The test items of Social Studies will be of 60 marks evenly distributed between History, Geography and Civics as prescribed for classes VI to VIII by the State Government.

 

The Questions in the test for Paper-II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for classes VI to VIII but, their difficulty level, as well as linkage, could be up to the Senior Secondary stage. The question paper shall be in English and questions in Vernacular will be in that Vernacular.

Test day Requirements

The Admit Card is an important document; it must be preserved and produced at the time of admission also.  

 

Report to the selected test centre with two copies of the Hall Ticket, one photocopy of the application form and any one of the following for photo identification:

  • PAN card
  • Aadhaar card
  • Government-issued ID containing photograph and signature

The GUJCET 2019 admit card is an important document without which the candidate will not be allowed inside the exam hall; in fact, the candidate must keep it safe and undamaged until the admission process is over. Candidates who reach the centre with no admit card and proofs of identity will not be allowed to write the test.

Candidates have to bring their own stationery things like blue/black ballpoint pens to darken the circles in the given OMR Sheet.

No candidate is allowed to carry any baggage inside the examination hall.
Candidates are also requested to check the instructions before they attend the entrance exam. Books, printed papers (other than their Admit Cards), Manuscripts or electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, cell phones and electronic diary, calculators etc, must not be taken into the examination hall.
The candidates must sign on the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place.

Malpractice of any form detected during or after the examination is liable to the cancellation of candidature.

Approach the hall invigilator in the room for any technical assistance, first aid emergency or any other information during the course of the examination. Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the examination is over.
