National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a national level design entrance exam in Fashion Education of India, which was organized by NIFT. NIFT conducts a national level exam for admissions into different disciplines of the undergraduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) level.   • The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi

  • A passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

 

(or)

 

  •  3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

 

(or)

 

  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

  • Step 1: Visit the NIFT 2020 official website.

 

  • Step 2: Click on the Admissions.

 

  • Step 3: Click on Admit Card for Written Test, then the Login Page is displayed on the Screen.

 

  • Step 4: Enter any two fields of Candidate (Application No/ DOB/ E-mail id).

 

  • Step 5: Click on Submit and download the Admit card.

NIFT 2020 - Personal Interview and Group Discussion Topics
     Interview Topics

 

Shortlisted candidates are required to go through a Personal Interview. A candidate is judged on  the various parameters as listed below:

     Group Discussion Topics

 

Shortlisted candidates are required to go through Group Discussions. It would entail a discussion  comprising of approximately 15 to 20 minutes of discussion on a case study given on which a panel of experts will assess the candidates on the following parameters:

  • The print copy of NIFT 2020 Admit Card
  • Photo ID Proof.

 

Acceptable ID’s include PAN Card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (with photo)/ Aadhar Enrolment Number/ Ration Card.

NIFT 2020 - Exam Day Instructions

NIFT 2020 Exam Day Instructions:

 

  • Candidates are advised to enter the examination centres at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the test.

 

  • Be sure about the exact location of your examination centre and means of commuting, in order to avoid any inconvenience on the day of examination.

 

  • No candidate will be allowed to seat for the test in any centre other than the one allotted to him/her and as is mentioned in the admit card.

 

  • Any candidate found to occupy a seat other than the one allotted to him/her will be reported against & his/her paper will be cancelled.

 

  • Carry the following documents to enter the examination Center.
    • A hard copy of admit
    • A copy of colour photograph as was uploaded during online
    • Any photo identity card in original such as Aadhaar card/ Pan card / Passport/ Voter card/ 10th standard admit card/ School – ID

 

  • Frisking may be carried out while entering the centre for checking prohibited objects.

 

  • Candidates are advised to take their seats at least 15 minutes before the test.

 

  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall beyond the scheduled time of commencement of the test under any circumstance.

 

  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any written or printed material, calculator, pen, docu-pen, log table, wristwatch, any communication device like mobile phones etc. inside the examination hall. Any candidate found with such items will be reported against & his/her candidature will be summarily cancelled.

 

  • Question booklets will be distributed well before commencement of the test. Take out the OMR sheet without breaking seals of the question booklet and check that your OMR number & question booklet number are same. If not, ask the invigilator to replace the whole set from same series.

 

  • Put your signature on the top of question booklet.

 

  • Read the instructions given on OMR & on the cover page of question booklet very carefully.

 

  • Write question booklet number & roll number at the appropriate places on the OMR. Wrong entry of question booklet number & roll number may lead to rejection of the OMR or wrong scoring, for which the Board will not remain responsible. If any candidate makes any mistake, he/she must not over write. Request the invigilator to strike it out & rewrite the correct numbers and put his/her signature.

 

  • Darken appropriate bubbles of question booklet number & Roll number.

 

  • Write your name in BLOCK LETTERS, name of the centre & put your signature in appropriate places on the OMR. Do not put any stray mark anywhere else; it may lead to rejection of OMR.

 

  • Check that your Roll number, photograph, spelling of your name in the attendance sheet matches with those given in your admit card. If any correction is needed, bring it to the notice of the invigilator.

 

  • Question booklet seals can be opened only at the time of commencement of test and as will be announced by the invigilator. Check all the pages of question booklet. If there is any damage or missing page or any difficulties to read the question booklet, ask your invigilator to replace the whole set from the same series.

 

  • Maintain silence during the test. Any conversation/gesticulation or creation of disturbances will be deemed a misdemeanor. If any candidate is found adopting any unfair means, his/her candidature will be cancelled, and / or he/she will be debarred either permanently or for a period as is deemed fit by the Centre- in- Charge.

 

  • No discussion will be allowed with the invigilator regarding any question.

 

  • Candidates may do rough work in the space provided in the question booklet.

 

  • No candidate will leave his/her seat without the permission of the invigilator until the test is over.

 

  • No candidate will leave the hall till the end of the test & all OMRs are collected & tallied by the invigilator.

 

  • If any Examinee is found impersonating, he/she will be handed over to the police & candidature of the original candidate will be cancelled outright.

NIFT 2020 - Result

NIFT Exam Result:

 

  • The result of the entrance examination will be displayed on the NIFT website. On the basis of the result of written test GAT and CAT, shortlisted B.Des candidates will be called for the second test called Situation Test.

 

  • For B.F.Tech, Candidates, GAT will be the final test for selection.

 

  • M.F.Tech and MFM, candidates will be called for Group Discussion/Personal Interview (GD/PI).

The applicants who have appeared for the NIFT 2020 entrance exam can check there results in the month of February and March 2020 (Tentatively). Results will be released in Online mode on the official website

Can I bring a soft copy of the Admit card (in mobile phone/ tablet/ laptop) to gain entry to the examination hall?

No. Hard copy (printed in colour) of the Admit Card should be brought to the examination centre along with at least one original (not photocopied/scanned copy) and valid (not expired) Identity Document (ID), whose details have been entered while filling the application.
